GRAND ISLAND, Nebraska —
Congressman Ro Khanna, a leader in the national Democratic Party and a forceful voice on the economy as a representative of Silicon Valley, one of the more financially muscular and culturally connected districts in the nation, held a two-hour town hall in Grand Island, Nebraska.
About 300 people attended the Friday evening event in the historic Liederkranz buiding in Grand Island in which the California congressman covered a sweep of topics with a heavy focus on the economy.
The town hall is part of a series of listening sessions Khanna is holding in red districts across the nation to spotlight what he says is the absence of Republican leaders from public meetings.
